Way to go Swofford!

Bringing Syracuse on board has assured this conference will have a seat at the playoff table.
All of you who thought this conference was going to be left behind were WRONG! I hate giving Swofford credit but he sure has pulled it out this time.
So those of you who thought Clemson would need money to compete, that the money gap between Clemson and The University of South Carolina would be a problem, need to realize you were WRONG.
This absolutely crushes that Big12 story yall were strung along by. Time to man up and admit you've been had.
ACC FOR LIFE!

I'm not going to argue the politics of this issue with you.

This statement is not verifiable "Bringing Syracuse on board has assured this conference will have a seat at the playoff table."
I'd suggest that our seat at the table has more to do with Clemson, FSU, VT, GT, UM and others than it has to do with the newbies. Couple that with the fact that the agreement for playoff system was made before the newbies signed contracts with the rest of the ACC.
If you are correct and Cuse and Pitt change their minds does that mean we lose our seat at the table? In the real world it would.
We are all waiting to see how the bottom line works out for Clemson.

From a football standpoint....

Syracuse brings very little to the table other than adding another perennial homnecoming opponent.
Over the last seven seasons, Syracuse has only managed to eclipse the five win mark one time. Their combined record during that same seven year period is a miserable 27 - 57 (.321).
The biggest benefit of adding Syracuse, is that weather permitting, you may be able can go check out Niagara Falls during a road game to the Carrier Dome.
If anyone really thinks the revenue disparity between Clemson and South Carolina is not a big problem, sees about as clearly as a one-eyed blind man.
Me thinks you're being a tad facetious but I will check the batteries in the old meter just to be on the safe side.

Going to be more of an interesting basketball rival than football. Regardless, in my humble opinion, Syracuse is a s##t-hole of a town, with lousy hotels and not much of a restaurant/bar district. Once Carrier moved out, there really hasn't been anything but the university to keep the city afloat. Can't see a lot of people from South Carolina wanting to road trip up there. And, BTW, travelling to the falls (regardless of the time of season) is a pain in the ####.

Show me how the financial gap is shrinking between us and South Carolina with the addition of Syr?
Remember that the SEC has not yet negotiated their contract..
I think you are jumping the gun here....

That's nearly as laughable as the ESPN article on this saying that with the pick up of Syracuse and Pitt the balance of college basketball power has moved from the Big East to the ACC. Hasn't the ACC been the best conference in basketball for the last 25 years or so?
Syracuse and Pitt were brought in for basketball. Clemson is a football school in a conference which was originally created by football schools in a basketball conference that has since become a basketball conference. I have thought for a long time that Clemson needed to be in the SEC, and I will continue to believe that until the ACC makes me think otherwise. The idea of moving to the Big12 was nice simply because we would be in a football conference. Quite simply what needs to happen is for us and kentucky to just swap conferences.

Good luck with persuading Kentucky to take a cut in pay to leave the SEC for the ACC. And good luck with persuading the SEC to DECREASE its geographical footprint.
