The ACC is desperate. Desperate to (1) keep up in the expansion arms race, and (2) to stay above 12 teams for whenever FSU, Clemson, and [next in line] figure a way out of the GOR. And there are no candidates left on the East Coast to offer expansion to.

I think this is a terrible move by the conference, but also one of the only options they had left. At this point I hope it's something Clemson doesn't have to worry about in a few years.
