I don't know when I started noticing this, but I really like them coupons. Sometimes I be looking for something and find what I'm looking for and it is a good price. Then WAIT, there is a $10 off coupon if I click that button?

So I'm like



And then I save $10. It's pretty neat. Just like that grill last weekend....decent looking price, then what is this? $50 off? Ya got me.

Pretty sure those coupons are the supplier paying the rebate.

It’s like when a wine goes bogo at publix, the distributor (in this case Amazon) is not paying for that discount since they prob paid more in FOB (Freight On Board, basically total cost of goods). The supplier is footing that bill if they want a promotion.

So probably the same here. X supplier says we want to run a coupon on x product and each rebate you can bill back to us and we will pay within 90 day terms.

But I do agree a lot of times I was already gonna buy said product and then Amazon offers the coupon which is just icing on the cake.
