If you could poach any player(s) from the BBall team

to play in football instead, who would it be and what position(s)?
I'd put PJ hall in at TE, I don't think you could defend 6'10" with his feet and hands. He would be a red zone terror. It is a shame he plays Basketball and not football for Clemson.

Parker Fox. He wouldn't be good on the field, but he would good for the culture.

Zero! Big, strong kids play basketball instead of football

for a reason.
Playing football hurts!
Kids who leaned toward hoops knew that early on.

“Moonlighted” playing basketball on the side.
All these guys were first and foremost football players. They were not hoops players who tried their hands at football.
Guys like Olu Babalola who looked like a prototypical TE, lasted almost no time when they put on the pads and took a few hard licks.

Nah, they were all very good players. Antonio Gates didn't even play football in college, only basketball. Look at Charlie Ward too. He played both and decided that he wanted an NBA career. There are so many good athletes in either sport that could have played either on the pro level. Even Lebron James was offered NFL contracts as a TE.

But IMHO ... most big, strong basketball players simply would not thrive as football players.

It is known that tons of NBA players could have been db's, wr's, TE's, etc etc. It's not even an opinion. It's known fact. They turned down college scholarships for football in many cases. There are football players that turned down scholarship in basketball. The same goes for baseball. There are a lot of good athletes out there. Dave Winfield was drafted by the NBA, the NFL, and MLB. Great athletes can do a lot.

I’ll give you that good football players can do okay at basketball.
What I’m saying is that just because a guy is big and on the court strong does not mean he would thrive as a football player.
Heck, I would say by far our best example in the last 50 years would be Stan Rome, but he was an exception.

Good idea. I'll take Collins for safety/nickelback or Bohannon for outside lb.

How about we just tell Brad Brownlee he has been promoted to be the Assistant to the Assistant Head Groundskeeper for the football team…..that way he can no longer be our basketball coach because of a conflict of interest…..problem solved!
