These endless comparisons between the 2 coaches simply show how ignorant a lot of Clemson fans are about basketball. The games are so different and basketball is much more UNPREDICABLE than football.There are more upsets in basketball especially since the shot clock and 3 point shooting. ANYTHING can happen in basketball today and does. There has not been a true dynasty in college basketball since UCLA in the 60's.I believe the BB critics here really are just football fans that are spoiled and know very little about basketball.

Continually underachieving is exactly what Bowden did. The comparisons are spot on. It's up to Brownell to change the narrative. Last night was a step in the right direction. But if he fails to make the Dance, it's all for naught.

Last night only cements the comparisons. Winning a big game that helps keep his job for another season. Obviously we still need to make the tournament but last night goes a long way to achieving that. We’ll squeak in the tournament and lose in the open round and he’ll save his job.

Your own personal expectations?

He's clearly not underachieving based on what Clemson University, the Clemson Athletic Department, and many coaches and analysts expect. They think he's doing a great job, which is why he has a job at Clemson and routinely gets praised for being a good coach.

So are we not mediocre at best in basketball over BB tenure?

The comparisons are that BB and Bowden are mediocre coaches and recruiters and could not take us to the next level.

The anti BB crowd are ready for us to take the next step and become a more consistent NCAA tournament team. BB clearly will not get us to that point. We may very well make the tournament this season, then follow that up with 4-5 years of no post season. Oh and no I don’t care what our history says.

I personally believe a good hire comes first and then the support/money follows. See Dabo.
