Whispers are that M. Williams won't run the 40 @ combine

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but that's the word floating on social media coming from the combine.
I'd hate for him not to run if he's healthy because it looks like he has something to hide. His times must not have been very good during his pre-combine preparation. Nuk wasn't a burner, but even he ran.

People will regret not picking him the same way all those teams regret not picking Nuk

smart move if true, he would stand to lose millions if he ran over a 4.65. That said, I do not buy the rhetoric that he will not be able to get separation against NFL DB's. He runs the skinny post about as well as it can be run and is very explosive.

There is nothing to gain from him running it.

Sadly, in today's "all eyes on you" environment, I think anything that you skip during the combine affects your stock negatively unless you have a legitimate reason for doing so (i.e. injury). I certainly think leornard fournette skipping his bowl game, showing up at 240lbs & choose not to bench press yesterday definitely impacted his stock. No one cares about pro days (Fournette said he will bench press at his instead). Look at Tajh Boyd's pro day - it was FLAWLESS. They want to see you do your thing in Indy - plain & simple.

Fournette will still be the first back taken. Don't let the talking heads fool you into thinking otherwise.

MW, like Nuk, has more than proved himself on the field.

That's true, but i get why they do it.

MW has largely competed against inferior (compared to him) athletes in CFB (think Jamarcus King). When he steps on the field in the NFL he will face guys that are equally talented, if not more so. It's tougher to get separation, it's tougher to out jump guys for the ball, and it's certainly tougher to carry guys around on your back.

Jamarcus King was a high-end 4-star and the #1 rated player in the country coming out of junior college...King is 6'2" and allegedly runs sub-4.5.
That is not an "inferior" athlete. Love him or hate him King is the #####' #1 CB by a mile, and will play Sundays.
Those were also first-round DB's Ohio State and Alabama had, whom Williams also roasted.
Inferior, my butt. He whipped everybody he played, including guys who will probably be drafted ahead of him because sometimes the draft just makes zero sense whatsoever, and the Draft Experts go and do things like rate Mitch Trubisky ahead of Deshaun Watson. And really, really believe it...until things unfold in the NFL exactly the way anybody who'd ever watched the ACC could have told them it would.
