Have always liked a darker beer but not too stout. Getting back into it now and looking for any suggested favorites.

Hard to beat Guiness, especially the draft version. Deschutes makes a good Porter as well.

highland Oatmeal porter and of course Sammy Smiths Oatmeal porter.
Look for a porter brewed with lager vs ale yeast. When I was at Clemson I had an analytical Chem class I'd get to a bit early and there was a industrial microbiology grad class before it. Professor stopped class 5 min early every day to teach about brewing and yeast. Got me into brewing in early 90s.
Enjoy hunting down that good porter.. I'm a dark, non hop guy for sure.

Highland Oatmeal Porter is my favorite beer ever. Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout is also excellent.

Charleston brewery is a good choice.
If it's not in your area, most local breweries feature either a porter or a stout throughout the year. Help them out and visit from time to time.

Yuengling makes a Hershey's Chocolate Porter that's pretty good.

For the money Yuengling Black & Tan is the best porter on the market. Most craft brews and Guinness leave a funky or harsh after taste. And the good thing about Black & Tan is you can catch it on sale for under 11 bucks a 12 pack.

If you find yourself in the Williamsburg, VA Mellow Mushroom, you can order "Palmer Porter" - a locally produced beer named in honor of my late wife. It's pretty good.

HC makes a "Pluff Mud Porter" that's been mentioned already.
Highland Brewing makes a "Black Mocha Stout" that is tops in my book. Recommend it the most.
