I am glad to see Clemson show some backbone here. There has often been this tone of meek submission to the ACC. Years ago both them and the coots should have demanded the ACCT be in SC at some point.

The "backbone" is facially deficient and dumb. There is no slander for an opinion, truth, or even kind of true. You have to show malice too. It makes Clemson look unfocused and in the pig trough with FSU. I actually made its entire case less credible and believable with this amendment.

On this you are wrong

The ACC has made statements asserting the GOR covers more that just the ESPN media agreement and that it goes until 2036 and both are untrue. By portraying it that way, they made any ACC team off limits for another conference to even touch them or any other media deal opportunity to be off the table for Clemson. That has cost Clemson $$. Now if Clemson shows in court that the plain language of the ESPN agreement does indeed say that Clemson’s media rights are only legit while Clemson is still in the ACC but go back to Clemson when Clemson leaves the ACC it is over! We pay an exit fee minus the amount of damages Clemson can show for having to go through this whole rigamorole for almost 2 years to prove we are not held hostage by that #### GOR they keep throwing out there trying to hold us captive!

This was a shrewd move by Clemson.

It wasn't a shrewd move at all. It is a foolish legal argument that has zero chance of success.

The claim that the GOR runs through 2036, and that it is independent of the ESPN contract is not in any way, shape, or from slander. The suggestion is ludicrous.

Well it doesnt run through 2036 so is a lie slanderous?

It was indeed an attempt to cause every possible suitor for Clemson to be frozen out of even thinking about when it is not true. That is what Clemson will prove in court. And if proven to be an untrue assertion by the ACC, then it was slander. They have even tried to hide the documents so no ne can call BS on that assertion. Show us the legal agreements and then let’s talk. Clemson has them by the nutz on this one.

Yes, it does run through 2036. It literally says that in the document.

Claiming that a contract states what is actually written in it is in no way slander. This argument will get destroyed in court.
