Am I the only one that feels

Jan 3, 2017, 8:43 AM

like there is absolutely no way we lose next Monday?

We were there last year...everyone on the team knows what to expect. we are going to be completely fired up. No major injuries (at least that we've heard) like last year. Everyone is going to play lights out and leave nothing left on the field except for Alabama tears.

I think the game plan is simple. Contain Scarborough and Hurts on the ground and make them pass. The defensive X factor for us is if we can cover OJ Howard again and I think we will because our secondary is way better than it was last year. The offensive X factor is if Deshaun can make good decisions with the football and not try to force anything. We are not going to be able to run with the Wayne Trayne.

I think we will move the ball better than Alabama will so it all comes down to our defense vs our defense.

Our special teams are WAY better than last year.

We are finally punting the ball better.

We all know Dabo is still hurting from that onside kick last year. Expect trick plays from both teams. We have seen Dabo call some tricks here and there throughout the year. We are going to steal several possessions with fake punts/going for it on 4th/possibly fake FGs.

I think we win somewhere around ~27-17.

I think we have a great chance. Maybe even better than last year. But I'd say 50/50 at best. I think Bamas defense is better this year. Key to me is being able to move the ball and our D stopping the run.

Bama's D is

Jan 3, 2017, 8:51 AM

not as deep as last year. I think our tempo will lead to lots of "injuries" for Bama
in the 2nd half. Look for hands on hips and then go for the throat.

We win by 8-10 points.

Not to mention we have A LOT more depth on our D Line.

I think you are right. Our D is better than last year up front and on the back side. Our run game is better IMO because of Hurts. Bo is hard to stop so if he is our feature back then that could be trouble for y'all. Hurts will have more to throw to than just Howard too. Stewart, Ridley, and Deiter are all very good receivers too. No team can cover them all so that means your front guys need to pressure Hurts (which Washington did quite well IMO). I think it will be another barn burner of a game though.

I think...

Jan 3, 2017, 9:28 AM

I think that Alabama has a great defense, but some of that is shighlighted more this year because the teams that they played in the SEC weren't as talented. Who, in that conference, was going to test them? LSU was the 2nd best team and they fired their coach for his inept offense. Who, in that conference is a quality QB who can pass against their defense - Chad Kelly, Josh Dobbs, Jacob Eason? Those guys aren't in the same league with Watson. So, much respect for Alabama, but this team without the Heisman Trophy winning running back, Derrick Henry, and the senior QB, Coker, is not as good as the one we barely lost to last year without Mike Williams, Deon Cain, Shaq Lawson, and Mackensie Alexander (for the 2nd half w/ injury). And the fact that we have added talent with Dexter Lawrence may help against their O-Line as well. This will be a battle, but think we have a better shot this year, especially with Deshaun and Boulware leading this team as experienced captains on their respective sides of the ball.

We didn't have Mac for any of that game did we?

Jan 3, 2017, 9:44 AM

Didn't he have a real hamstring injury (ahem, Peppers) and never took the field for a snap?

Re: We didn't have Mac for any of that game did we?

Jan 3, 2017, 9:45 AM

He played a bit of the first half. I don't think Lawson played a snap.

Mac and Shaq both played. Mac didn't play any second half but entire first half he played.

Shaq played also and had an impact. He didn't have a Kevin Dodd impact but small impact. Both played.

Not looking through orange sunglasses but Clemson is equal to Alabama on defense. I've never seen Clemson hungry in all my time as a fan. Clemson wins easily and big. Jalen Hurts has a miserable day and freshman mistakes are made. Not disrespecting Alabama so don't take it that way. They are the king. I'm just giving my opinion. Clemson is coming and they are hungry. I don't think this game is close.

Clemson 37
Alabama 23

Again, I have all respect for Alabama. But this year they are the second best team in college football.

I feel pretty good, but this is Bama we are talking about

Jan 3, 2017, 9:37 AM

They are going for their fifth title in eight years. I find it hard to be too confident going up against that track record.

Bama has this annoying way of having the

player that is most maligned and questioned during the run up to the game (that would be Jalen) showing up to play the game of their freakin' lives. I personally feel confident but I also know Bama has the uncanny ability to play the slobberknockers and the shootouts.

And turnovers....Clemson will win going away.

Turnovers will decide this game.

Disagree on turnovers

Jan 3, 2017, 10:20 AM [ in reply to If Clemson doesn't give up cheap TDs on special teams ]

Clemson has proven all season (as well as Saturday night) that turnovers don't kill our chances. I think we can survive 2-3 turnovers and still beat Bama. Just keep playing with confidence!

Re: Disagree on turnovers

Jan 3, 2017, 10:21 AM

I agree with you. But our chances go down with every turnover.

I was just saying I would almost guarantee victory if we have zero turnovers and play field position ball if we have to.

protecting the ball. Bama's secondary is as good as it gets and extremely opportunistic. Of course, we heard that about tOSU too. No turnovers, no special teams mistakes and we win.

Re: Am I the only one that feels

I do. The two main problem's I see is our special teams coverage and turn overs. If we handle those two things, and mirror the defense preformance of Saturday ,we have a good chance to win. But that's my opinion.

I don't think Clemson has to play a perfect game to win if their defense shows up and plays to their potential.

Probably, yes.***

nom one should be surprised if we win going away!! Ba,a has a terrific defense but look at who they complied it against. Bring up their schedule and it is not even close top ours. They have not faced an O like we have. Second, i fully expect that barring a homer job from officials we will spend the evening putting the hurt on Hurts!! He's a freshmen and has never seen what he's about to face. Would not surprise me to see him turn its over 3 times himself. Finally, we have Number 4 and he will lead us to the promised land of the NC. And to boot I got 7 points!
I see it as in the range of tigers 38 Bama 17
