Yesterday I watched highlights from the past weekends spring game and then I watched highlights from 2018 and 2019 spring games. You can gauge the teams somewhat my looking at individual performances. Though there were a lot of key pieces missing Saturday, I can’t say with confidence this team could go undefeated. Yes, I want them to and yes if there is someone who could do it, it is a Dabo swinney led team. However, I do not see the kind of freakish athleticism that I saw on any of the national championship teams. I think we finish the regular season 12-1 or 11-2. I think we win the ACC. I just think the issue that we can’t seem to overcome is we don’t have dudes like we use to have, or even maybe the firey coaching Brent use to bring. Like i said, I want nothing more than to be on top of the mountain again. After the unexpected season last year, I would be pleased with simply looking like Clemson football again. My expectations are not national championship.
