Since when is chop-busting considered abuse?

Oh, wait. Dumb question. It's 2023. Everything that makes me feel bad about me is abuse.

Take 1:
If IF Sweeney (sic) was busting Kinard's chops for transferring given who his dad is, so? Coaches cant ride players anymore? Does EVERYTHING have to be bubblewrapped and round-edged? These kids are making business decisions. Are they incapable of the resiliency needed to make them?

Take 2:

If Swinney was being a jerk and singling the kid out ... ok. Let Swinney work it out with them and maybe say "Yeah we worked it out" at the next presser. As if a HC cant have a bad day. It may be a bad look, but, that's about all it is.
If my kid called me with a story like that, I'd prolly say "Welp, I guess you made the right call to leave, then, didnt you. Keep
moving forward." Sure as heck wouldnt go to SM with a grievance. I'd go to Swinney.

Take 3:
If Kinard is not telling the truth, or even is merely misrepresenting the truth, let him be held to account along with irresponsible and lazy media outlets (three by my counting) who willingly failed to do any actual REPORTING by independently verifying the alleged FB rant. and are the ENTIRE*** reason people cant trust media anymore.

Take 4:
Hook 'Em
Go Tigers
War dern Eagle

It's apples to bananas.

I've had great Texas bbq that'd put South Carolina pork to shame. And just recently I had some of the best dern SC pork bbq I've ever had, and it put Texas chopped brisket to shame.

All this sectionalism is for the birds. Texas is just a place. It has both good and bad people, and parts. Like South Carolina.

Texas owes a lot to the men (and women) of South Carolina, in particular. Plenty of South Carolinian blood was shed at the Alamo and in other parts of Texas way back when.

As I'm a Texan, I'm proud to be a Texan. But I'm equally proud to have married a Carolinian, and even more proud to be raising a gaggle of Carolinians.

Now, you put the Longhorns in DV, I'm going to be rabidly in opposition to Clemson for a few hours. But that's about where the animosity ends.

I am a third-gen UT alum from Texas who married a third-gen Clemson alum, and our firstborn child is an Auburn student.

As you age, you find your heart is pulled in many directions, all at once, with equal fervor.

I hope this helps.

Horns down should be a penalty. I doubt it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think so.

It's been a while since the gesture was a news item, and even then, it was a marginal, whipped-into-a-story sort of story. I think in the SEC it'll depend on the team, given we're just another program with a lot to prove.

Nobody owes us nothin' in the SEC.

Either way, while some of the softer-than-a-two-minute egg Texas boosters get the drizzles over Horns down, I don't think your average Longhorn player, coach, grad or bandwagon fan is really worried about hand gestures.

I reckon I'll confront far worse here in a couple of weeks in NOLA from UDub fans. Although I've always found West Coasters are a friendly, laid-back lot.

That's why social media should not be relied on for factual news stories. There is zero journalistic integrity. There's no penalty for bad reporting on those platforms. Too many people grab those stories and immediately turn them into personal "facts".

Until a journalistic entity, like the AP, picks it up with named sources or audio/video, every story one sees on FB, X/Twitter, Instagram, Truth Social even glorious TNET etc. should be treated this way. Yet, we don't and we are paying the price in every avenue of society from sports to politics and religion. It's more invasive and destructive than kudzu.

And it's caveat emptor. If you're too lazy to run even a basic fact check, or lack the discernment to realize what you're reading on SM may not be real, well, you get what you got.

Given no one really knows what's up, it's hard to assign intent to the alleged post from the alleged person.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Add to that, the timing of the "post" on the day before signing day.
