From tonawanda-news.com:
Yet the 6-foot-3, 215-pound signal caller outdid himself this fall, shattering the Western New York single-season record for passing with 3,050 yards to go along with 991 yards rushing to win the 40th Connolly Cup, cementing his legacy. He’s the only player from New York who will play in the Under Armour All-American Game on Jan. 5 in St. Petersburg, Fla., and is the unanimous choice for the 2011 Tonawanda News Player of the Year. “It was all great stuff. I put up some great numbers and everything,” said Kelly who had 27 touchdowns passing and 14 rushing this season. “But still, none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for my teammates.”
That all came following Kelly’s junior season at St. Joe’s in which he became the first quarterback in the state to throw for more than 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 more en route to a Monsignor Martin Athletic Association title.
