4-star defensive tackle
Sterling Johnson
Sterling Johnson He has spoke with Mike Reed about his commitment but will have to get in touch with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney to officially commit. Clemson commitments are not official till the prospect has spoken directly with Swinney, and he discusses what a commitment means to Clemson. Clemson was his first college offer and Dan Brooks and Mike Reed had been recruiting him for the Tigers. Since then, he has had offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, among others. He told TigerNet about his visit to Clemson for Junior Day in early February: "One thing that really popped out at me was the family-type environment," he said. "Everybody is constantly raving about Clemson and I finally was able to experience that when we went down there to visit." As a junior, he had 80 tackles and 7 sacks. I would to thank all the schools who have offered but, It's official, I am verbally committed to Clemson university ! #Tigers???? I wanna thank everyone who believed in me and supported me, ima continue to try my hardest to make Cleveland proud ! ????? .#Clemson commit @HighlightReal90 mentioned DC Brent Venables as a major reason for his choice. .#Clemson was already #6 in the ESPN Class Rankings before @HighlightReal90 committed. Terrific start to the class for the Tigers.
