K.J. McDaniels to sign with new team |
Former Clemson forward
K.J. McDaniels is set to join a fourth different team since entering the NBA draft early in 2014.
McDaniels' agency announced the Birmingham, Alabama, native has agreed to terms with the Toronto Raptors, which an earlier ESPN report detailed was a partially-guaranteed one-year deal. McDaniels was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014, but was traded after a promising start (9.2 PPG/25.4 MPG) to Houston, where he averaged less than 10 minutes and three points per game over 2.5 seasons. The former first-team All-ACC selection played with the Brooklyn Nets last season, averaging 6.3 points in 14.7 minutes per. McDaniels scored 17.1 points a game in his final Clemson campaign, earning ACC defensive player of the year with 2.8 blocks and 1.1 steals per.
